About Me

I consider myself very lucky.

I had a wonderful childhood growing up with a loving family in the amazing Australian bush. Memories of laughter, horse riding, swimming in the creek and dressing up in crazy clothes.

A country girl then arrives in Sydney to study Fashion Design at Sydney College the Arts. I was18 years old and about to start life.

University was great fun and ignited my creative juices. It certainly was a great learning experience.

Then to work in the fashion industry - trips to China and Hong Kong, designing fabrics and finished garments.......all that study was paying dividends.

Another step - marriage and three children .... certainly gives you a new outlook on life. It was at this time that I added a Post Grad in teaching to my BA Degree in Design and Textiles. It seemed to me that teaching would best fit with raising kids – however my creative side started itching again and I started designing home wares which were marketed and sold through local gift boutiques and furniture outlets.

Next came the best decision I have ever made - a sea change to the Byron Bay hinterland. The area just inspires creativity…......so maybe I will try my hand at painting?

Well, here we are 2017 - 11 years of painting and well over 750 sold original artworks later!

I consider myself very lucky.

Painting is my passion. Passion (pash-unh /n.) is an emotion, compelling feeling, enthusiasm or desire for something.

Colour is my Vision. Colour (Kul-uh /n.) is a sensation produced on the eye by rays of light.

I have always loved colour. From an early age I dressed up in the most colourful outfits, dyed my hair purple and wore different colour shoes. My infatuation with colour flowed into a career as a fashion designer and now manifests itself in my art.

I live in a most beautiful part of the world - the rolling hills and rainforests of the Byron Bay hinterland is my home. My wonderful family, the quirky villages, amazing landscapes and eclectic mix of people ignite my passion to paint.

The overwhelming sentiment of my art is my ‘love of life’.

My art practice is influenced by many great artists, including Whiteley, Done, Miro, Picasso, Hundertwasser and Australian Indigenous Art. Distorted geometric shapes and bold textures speak of my background in textiles. Vibrant colour is my palette.

My work is full of optimism and positive energy and my hope is that when buying my work, that this energy is transferred to your life and environment.
